Just released a rescued tiny young sparrow this early morning n it fly safely back reunited with its family. So happyyyy
This morning is one of the happiest day. We released a tiny young bird that fell down to the ground while trying to learn to fly. I’ve found it yesterday, in the very late afternoon, almost near sunset time, inside one of neighbour’s pot filled with Lillies plant. There, inside the pot in the middle of the long leaves of the lillies plant, a little bird desperately tried to fly out escape, but too weak to fly high, so that poor little bird trapped inside. First, I didn’t realise what it was, then I notice a little fury creature, n I saw it was a little bird. I put it out from the plant. N I look around n realised it was an area with few cats & big mouses around, not a safe environment for a little bird that fell helplessly on the ground. So I took it home. First it was panic n chirped hysterically n I think I could hear other birds chirped back responded to it. But I felt I had to save it first. And had to learned the best way to help it and it had to be at home first. When I’ve already at home, I put it inside a used little cake box made from some kind of hard paper or cardboard. I covered the base of the box with soft paper tissue. I made some holes for air circulations, for the the bird to breath comfortably and then closed the box to limited the access of light, so it was dark enough for the bird to relax n take a rest. It was looked stressed out, stand silently in the corner of the box. Then, I search in google about what should I do with this little bird. I found out that the little bird is a young sparrow, with age that was just mature enough to learn to fly. Maybe it just started to learn to fly but bad things happened that made it fell, n failed it to take off fly again. Luckily it didn’t meet any kind of danger such as predators like cats, mouses, dogs or maybe some humans with bad intentions, or maybe hit by a car or motorcycles. The articles that I found in internet said that I should check if it injured. I checked it has no wounds, broken wings, or tailed, the important parts for flying. Its little feet are also fine, it can grab my fingers n stand firmly on its feet. Then I read I should not gave it any kind of food & drinks. Do not forcefully feed or give any water, it could choke it . I should not put any kind of leaves or grass, it might too humid for it n possibly give infections from fungus. So after it was calmed down, this little bird can stand quietly on my fingers. I gently try to test if it can fly or not in a closed n safe room inside my house. It can fly, but only for a vert short distance, around 50 cm horizontally from me, and 2 meters from the floor, but then it hit the wall n fell down again. I put the bird again in its box safely. I had to be really careful when I touched or grab it, since it was really small n fragile. His feet are so tiny. Also Even just one little feather on its wings n tails broken, it will fatally influenced its ability to fly. The little bird need its equipment to fly in its best conditions in order to execute its flying exercise safely n successfully.
I read the articles in the internet that I should try to released the bird back in the area that near the location where it fell as soon as possible n but try to manage a safely environment for the executions. Then wait for around 20 minutes if it was safe enough or it meet its family back. I went back to the location n stand under the big tree there with the little bird in open box. I did try to release it. I opened the box n let it stand on my finger, under the branch of the big tree. But it didn’t want to fly n leave me, just sit quietly on my finger, reluctantly to move any muscle. I realised maybe at that time it was too dark for the little bird to fly. It was 06.00 pm, The sun already set. I heard that birds already blind, couldn’t see anythings, when the sun is set n they tend to feel sleepy at that ime. Maybe the little bird also too tired to fight back used its energy to fly home. So I decided to put it back to the box, n let it take rest fully for a night n collects its energy back for flying in the next morning at sunrise. I took the bird inside the box home, n put the box in the most quiet and safest place in the house, with no lights, n let it sleep peacefully for the rest of the night.
Next morning at sunrise, around 05.30 am, the little bird inside the box already heard awaked n chipped, almost heard like singing, maybe responded to the sounds of the wild birds outside the house. Then I tried to peek the bird inside the box, I opened the box gently n I saw the birds is already looked more energetic, look excited for the next things that will happened to him. Then after I changed clothes, I ask my little sisters to accompanied me to released the bird to the location where it fell yesterday. I also bring a ladder to help me reached the nearest branch of the tree there so the bird can sit there n try to learn to fly high enough to stay away from dangers on the ground such predators like cats, mouses, humans n also hit by cars or bikes. Then I climbed the ladder with the box n the little bird in it, then when I was on top of the ladders, I opened the box. For seconds, The bird stand still, looked like learned about the situations first, heard carefully where the sound surround it. And suddenly when it recognised the sound of its family chirping n IT FLIES! not to the nearest tree branch on top of me, but far away to the roof of one of my neighbours in front of me. N there I saw some birds that looked just like the little bird, fly approached it. I knew that the little bird have already reunited with its family.. aaa I felt sooo relieved, extremely happy n full of love watched that joyful family reunion. I can hear the birds chirped & singing happily like made conversations, “where have you’ve been?? We are so happy to found you again!!”. I am pretty sure that the first 2 birds that fly approached it is its parents. I really hope n pray that the little bird n his family will have a long healthy happy life.. aameen..
My sister n I walked back to our home, and about 5 minutes later suddenly the rain fell quite heavily with little storm non-stopping until late afternoon. But we all happy knowing that the little bird has already safe with its family.
What I’ve learned from a contemplation on what happened this day, the great happiness that I’ve got, beside the joy feeling of witness the happiness from creature that I’ve already saved, it also came from the satisfaction that I have made a good decision & have done the right things & at the right time. I was fortunate enough to meet the little bird at the moment when it just fell, so I can immediately rescued it. I decided to took it home, keep it safe n learned about it first how to give proper way to give it the best things to rescued it. I did checked wether it safe enough to released it at sunset but I found out the bird were not be able to be released at that time n I decided to took it home again to gave it a chance to take a rest n gained its energy back. And then I released it back to its family at the exact time when it was fully energised, n its family are in the right place near the locations chirped happily (what they usually do every sunrise time) in the place it was fell. If I late to release it, the bird might be too weak because of starving n frustration n the chance to meet its family is a little bit lower since at day time they were busy fly far away to find food and also it was rain quite heavy n stormy after the released n the birds family reunion, which is was a hard & challenging situations if the little bird with low experienced of flying to fly meet its family under heavy rain n storm. Right decisions + right actions + right time = huge satisfaction + great happiness👍
This is the result from the optimal combination from : 1. trained focus& concentration, 2. awareness&mindfulness, 3. wisdom and last but not least, 4. Loving kindness. These are 4 qualities of the harmonious mind. We must keep it well trained to keep it strong. I had been focus enough to be mindful to find out that there was a little bird are in a helpless situation n aware of the situation there is a dangerous for it. that Wisdom itself play roles in how I made the right decisions by calculating the variables that influenced the situations of the problems. Wisdom can be developed from 3 ways : 1.) Experiences; maybe since I am an animal lovers & have been interacting with many animals & learn how to help them since I was a little child, I have many experiences. Not always good n successful experiences, some are bad n failures ones, but I learned a lot from those. 2.) Knowledges. Those I have from seeking advices & teachings from many gurus or people that have more experiences than mine, or books or articles that I read in the internet (google/YouTube) that related about how to help animals. 3.) Meditation; this is the strongest ways to developing & strengthening wisdom since it is build from ur inner self / sub-consciousness so the wisdom could be deep-rooted on you so will be more stable n not easily shaken. I was fortunately to have opportunities to have chances to have trainings & practice meditation freely. I am so grateful that I live a comfortable environment, peaceful country that support my meditation practices.
With the combination lovingkindness, awaress, mindfulness, wisdom, focus & concentration, I was be able to be knowledgeable to give it a proper treatment, since it was very tiny n fragile. also I have to be extra careful to hold & grab it firmly to keep it safe & protected, prevented it to not run away when I saved it from potentially dangerous area when it was fell, but gentle enough to make the bird feel comfortable enough, then it had a chance to calm down. Also, with the used of 4 qualities of the harmonious mind, I was be able to really concentrated when check up its health & focus on all details about its physical health conditions, such as hold its small n fragile wings n feet gently enough for me to see any kind of small trauma but not made the bird panicked n did dangerous movement or actions to itself. Otherwise it may panicked, hit itself to the walls or other dangerous things n hurt itself, or I might accidentally crushed it, harm or killed it, or ruins its ability to fly free back to its family. It’s all about well-trained harmonious mind. So all the long hours trainings, discipline & persistence in meditation practices is really worthy & beneficial, for ourself n for other beings. 💖
Oh btw, at the end I wrote this, I googled about what the meaning of totem or when a sparrow come to your life , it said in the article:
“This bird comes in your life to remind you of the importance of happiness. The sparrow infuses friendliness, joy, and compassion in a person’s life. The sparrow forces you to love your existence by boosting your self-confidence and dignity. It also gives you a sense of caring for others.”
I wish all the same for all beings aameen..
may all beings be happy💖🙏🏽
